Have you ever dreamt of eloping in Southern California? Your only problem will be due to the plethora of locations to choose from. The fact that there are no residency requirements or waiting periods before you receive your marriage license makes your elopement that much more stress free!
Whether you want your toes in the sand or in Sleeping Beauty’s castle when you recite your vows, Southern California is sure to have an ideal place for you to elope.
Disneyland: Yes, believe it or not the Magical Kingdom is a very popular venue at which to exchange vows. Full of breathtaking gardens and of course, Sleeping Beauty’s castle, Disneyland is the place for your fairy tale wedding. Three of the most popular locations include the Wedding Garden at Disney’s Grand Californian Resort, the Sunset Gazebo at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel and the Rose Court Garden at the Disneyland Hotel. All of this will, however, take some planning. If you want to elope in Sleeping Beauty’s castle for instance, you will need to call Disneyland’s Fairy Tale Weddings about a year in advance.
Southern California Beach Weddings: Southern California has a treasure trove of beach cities. There are smaller locations such as La Jolla and Malibu. Then there are the larger communities and beaches of Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara just to name a few. All of these settings are great for an elopement with a little planning, or an informal, spur of the moment kind of service. Just be sure you okay your plans with California State Parks and have any required permits.
La Jolla: La Jolla Cove claims to be the most photographed beach in Southern California. It is located 15 minutes north of downtown San Diego and provides soft sand indulgent beaches, year-round sunbeams and the Pacific Ocean’s watercolor sunsets. Another La Jolla beach is La Jolla Shores, a sandy beach a mile long near a residential area. You will need a permit to elope on a public beach per The City of La Jolla.
Malibu Lagoon State Beach: Places to elope here feature gardens, wetlands and sandy beaches. This is the location where Malibu Creek meets the ocean. You may elope on the beach or at the Adamson House, which is a designated a National Historical Site and registered California Landmark. It is visible from most spaces on the beach, and located down the coast in Malibu Lagoon State Beach. The house and its grounds share one of the most stunning beach locations in Southern California where you can see Malibu Lagoon, Malibu Beach and the Malibu Pier.
Hollywood: If you want to feel like a true celebrity then Hollywood is the place to elope for you. The Studios at Paramount is so much more than a place where historic movies and TV shows are made. Create your event using many of the same resources utilized by blockbuster production. This includes the New York Street back lot, scenic outdoor spaces and sumptuous, state-of-the-art theatres, as well as any staging, rentals or entertainment bookings you could want.

Remember, if your dream weddings are at Disney, you are going to need to book your choice at least a year in advance.
